MPOCS Image Atlas
The MPOCS Image Atlas is a digital platform that aims to help community members and primary care providers recognize mpox lesions to aid in diagnosis and treatment. The image atlas includes a wide variety of photos of mpox lesions at different stages and on different skin tones, as well as links to a variety of other mpox educational resources.
Mpox Prospective Observational Cohort Study (MPOCS)
This study is an ongoing study that is seeking to gain greater understanding of how mpox presents in humans and how it impacts those who become ill from the virus. People enrolled in the study fill out questionnaires and provide samples during study visits to help researchers study the progression of their illness. This is study is coordinated by the Options Lab at Unity Health Toronto, headed by Dr. Darrell Tan. Learn more about this study here. The study was funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, University of Toronto Emerging & Pandemic Infections Consortium, St. Michael’s Hospital Office of the Vice President of Research and Innovation and MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions.
Options Lab
The Options Collaboratory on HIV and STI Treatment and Prevention Science (Options Lab), is located within the MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions at Unity Health Toronto – St. Michael’s Hospital. Our lab is an interdisciplinary research team dedicated to bringing together community, academic, clinical and policy partners to find and implement new and better options for HIV and STI treatment and prevention. Led by Dr. Darrell Tan, the Options Lab seeks to develop and implement patient-centred solutions for HIV and STI prevention and treatment, and to rapidly respond to emerging pathogens. The Knowledge Translation Program
The Knowledge Translation Program (KTP) at St. Michael’s Hospital’s Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute is a world leader in Knowledge Translation with a well-established infrastructure to support practitioners and the public.
The KTP works with researchers to develop a strategy to put knowledge into practice at both the clinical and policy level. It aims to ensure high quality evidence reaches patients, health care providers and decision-makers by making sure effective strategies are used to improve quality of care.
