description:
Located on the corona of the glans penis of a 30 year old HIV-negative white cisgender man is a tender 10-mm shallow-based ulcer with regular, raised borders. A similar ulcer is visible on the inner side of the retracted foreskin. There are also numerous tiny erythematous papules and pustules across the glans. The ulcers were part of the participant’s primary crop of lesions, which predated his systemic symptoms. This image was taken 11 days after symptom onset and 14 days after a 1st dose of MVA-BN vaccine.
