Erythematous papules on the foot of a 38 year old cisgender man

Erythematous papules on the foot of a 38 year old cisgender man living with HIV on suppressive antiretroviral therapy with a CD4 cell count in the normal range. This individual had received a single dose of MVA-BN vaccine 17 days earlier but had likely been exposed to mpox within the week prior. These papules were part of a crop of subtle, secondary lesions that appeared after a brief acute illness featuring pharyngitis and constitutional symptoms.
